Opened transitional home for teenage girls from Buen Pastor home in Cusco (2008)

perutrhomebio1.jpgRed Dot was given a wonderful opportunity to provide a transitional home for the oldest girls who have aged out of the Buen Pastor orphanage and have no other place to go live as they pursue degrees at the local university.  These girls have all come out of tremendously dark family situations. But through the love of the nuns and their perutrhomebio2.jpgfriends in their previous home, their strength of character, and the grace of God, these five young ladies have all overcome these hardships and are now each in position to obtain a college education and then begin a professional career.

perutrhomebio3.jpgSince August 2008 these girls have been living in their new home with a house parent and have also had a tutor to help them with their studies, and a social worker to assist them with family issues.
Red Dot considers it a privilege to provide a healthy living environment for these special girls and is excited about how God will use this home to be a blessing for them and other young ladies in the future.

Red Dot 100X is paying for the yearly salaries of in-home teachers at the Buen Pastor girls' home in Cusco, Peru. 50 to 60 girls ranging from 5 to 18 years of age live in this orphanage. The teachers cover subjects such as computer training, dance, music, cooking/baking, sewing, and cosmetology. Red Dot loves these girls dearly and we are excited to help meet their educational needs.

Funded retiling of girls bathroom at Buen Pastor orphanage in Cusco (2007)

After our July 2007 100X trip to Cusco during which our team tiled a large indoor courtyard area in the Buen Pastor girls' home, Red Dot paid to have the girls upstairs bathroom totally retiled.  It was a great improvement and now the girls have a very nice bathroom to use near their bedrooms.

Tiled courtyard/laundry room at Buen Pastor girls orphanage (100X trip - July 2007)

During our mission trip to the Buen Pastor home in Cusco, the Red Dot men did the back-breaking work of tiling a cement indoor courtyard (and laundry room) with beige ceramic tile. They served on their hands and knees all week so that all the girls could have a beautiful floor on which to walk, dance and perform.
