100X Doing Good food drive to benefit county food pantry

The 2008 Red Dot 100X Doing Good Food Drive has come to a spectacular end.  The Red Dot family donated over 725 items in addition to some employee cash donations.  Red Dot 100X donated an additional $1000.00 to ensure that this food drive will make an even greater impact on our community. 

As the food was donated this morning, a very touching event occurred that I would like to share with you.  The lobby was
full of families and individuals waiting
in line to receive donated items. 
In a room off of the lobby is a
desk where clients meet with the Food Pantry Director to get approval prior to receiving any donations.  As the director accepted the check and cash donations from Hollie her mouth dropped open.  She was aware of the amount of food donated but was not expecting such a generous additional gift.  As she turned to thank Hollie, a client started crying.  This woman then turned to thank Hollie and wished Red Dot a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.  Due to the generosity of the Red Dot family, this will be a blessed, bountiful and  happier holiday season for many of our neighbors. 

It is very special that, as a team, we are able to have such an impact on the suffering in our community.

A Food Pantry Thank You

   Many thanks for all of the food you collected and brought to the Food Pantry last week.  You helped us to make many families have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We always appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness for those that are less fortunate.  We hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving and will have a very Merry Christmas!

100X food drive to benefit county food pantry

Beginning Wednesday, November 5th our Red Dot family will join together to collect food to benefit The Henderson County Food Pantry who assists families throughout the Thanksgiving holidays.  This small donation can really make a big difference to families struggling throughout this holiday season.  Please consider dropping off a few cans or boxes of non-perishable food items to benefit neighboring families who are in need.

Three boxes will be available to accept non-perishable food donations.  One box will be located in the break room, one in the front lobby and the other in the Red Dot Direct lobby.  The items most in need are cereal, laundry detergent and toiletries. The donation boxes will remain out until Monday, November 24th at which time they will be taken to the Henderson County Food Pantry for distribution.

Because this is such a worthy cause, Red Dot 100X will match in cash given to the HC Food Pantry the approximate value of all the items donated by our Red Dot family during this food drive.  So in essence, when someone gives $10 worth of food they really will be giving $20 to help a family in crisis.

Red Dot thanks you in advance for your willingness to reach out to assist local families in need during this holiday season.

UPDATE AS OF 11/11/08:

The donation boxes have been filling up quickly and we have not even met the half way point! It is so exciting to know that our Red Dot family
donation will make such a big impact on our community.

The boxes are being emptied to ensure there will be enough room for
everyone's donations.  The box that was in the Red Dot Direct lobby has
been moved to the staircase area near Darron Taylor's office to make it easier to drop off items.

Please remember to bring non-perishable donations before we deliver all the items on 11/25.  Red Dot 100X will match in cash the approximate value of all items donated by Red Dot employees.

So far we have donated over 224 items!  Next Monday all items will be taken to the Food Pantry so as a reminder you have one more week to bring any non-perishable donations.  Remember that Red Dot 100x will make a cash donation for the approximate value of all donations made- so our donations will be doubled!  Thanks to all for making our first food drive such a big success already!

An update on our 2008 Food Drive:  Over 330 items have been donated! 

Next Tuesday all of the donation boxes will be taken to the Food Pantry
so there are only three days remaining to bring any additional
non-perishable items. 

Red Dot 100X will be making a cash donation for the approximate value
