Red Dot's 2010 Christmas outreach is huge success
On December 17th, for our 3rd annual 100X Christmas Outreach Red Dot identified and “adopted” 60 local families who were in real need of assistance to provide their children with food and gifts on Christmas Day. Our entire Athens office devoted its work day to buying gifts and meals, wrapping presents, preparing 120 gift/food boxes, and delivering them to all these Henderson County families. Everyone helping did an incredible job for this worthwhile cause. Red Dot is certainly blessed to have people who want to help others. Thanks to all of you dozens of parents and children had a Christmas to remember in 2010!

100X Toys for Tots Toy Drive
Over 100 toys were again donated by our Red Dot family. The Athens Fire Department delivered these toys to numerous families in crisis this Christmas season. Thanks for helping these families provide wonderful gifts to their children on Christmas morning!
100X Adopt an Angel Tree Child
The Angel Tree program at South Athens elementary school helps provide
Christmas gifts to around 40 young students each year who come from families really struggling financially. Red Dot had the privilege of adopting 10 of these children this year. Thanks to Barton Davis for spearheading this project for us! Your effort made for a memorable Christmas for these special students!
Pedro’s Christmas Party in Village of San Martin
Our very own Pedro Carillo made his annual trip to his home village in Mexico to throw a Christmas party for all the schoolkids there. Red Dot 100X always enjoys sponsoring this event. Thank you Pedro for ensuring that these children all received gifts this holiday season! Feliz Navidad!
Highlights of Our Christmas Work Day:
-
Our shop guys grilled delicious fajitas and smoked mouth-watering barbecue for all to enjoy at the Christmas lunch
-
Johnny Johnson won our 1st annual banana puddin throwdown
-
Our crew invaded Walmart and delivered hundreds of gifts

100X Doing Good Christmas outreach 2010
Ho, Ho, Ho... Three years in a row!

After being such a huge success the last two years Red Dot is excited to hold our 3rd Annual 100X Christmas Outreach which will give us numerous opportunities to "adopt" families and children this holiday season as well as donate toys for local children in a Toys for Tots toy drive. As always, Red Dot wants to reach out in a substantial way to needy families and children in our community this Christmas season. Below is an explanation of Red Dot's holiday outreach efforts.
Angel Tree Adopt-a-Child
The teachers at South Athens Elementary School prepare an angel tree by selecting one student in each classroom who will not have a Christmas without some assistance. Red Dot has adopted ten of these children this year and, on our behalf, Barton Davis has volunteered to purchase and wrap the gifts for these special students. Thanks Barton!
Toys for Tots Drive

Help make sure a child has a gift to open this Christmas. Similar to our Thanksgiving Food Drive donation, our Toys for Tots drop off locations will be located in the break room and at the back staircase. The toys must be new and unwrapped. The last two years we have donated 400 toys to Toys for Tots, which means 400 children have felt special and cared about on Christmas! Let's do our best to add many more to that number this year and bring happiness to even more children this December! The toy drive begins Thursday, December 9th. All the toys will be delivered to the Athens Fire Department on Friday, December 17th. Just one toy makes Christmas Day memorable for a child so please contribute if you are able.
Adopting Families (Christmas Outreach Workday - December 17th)
This year Red Dot will be "adopting" over 50 local families who without our assistance would be unable to give Christmas gifts to their children this year. The local Henderson County Help Center will give us the names of these families who have met the Center's requirements for assistance.
All of us at Red Dot will be lending a helping hand this year as we reach out to assist these families. How will we accomplish this? Just like last year! Friday, December 17th will be our official Red Dot 100X Christmas Outreach Day when our entire Red Dot family will work together to bring hope and happiness to our adopted families. The entire workday will be devoted to this important project. This means that the activities in our manufacturing and construction departments that day will be put on hold so that everyone can participate in this fun and meaningful day of outreach.
Before or on that day each of you will be given different tasks, which could include:
1.) Purchasing Christmas meals and gifts for each family (with gift cards provided by Red Dot), or
2.) Preparing/wrapping these gifts and meals for delivery that afternoon, and/or
3.) Delivering the gifts and meals to each family around the county.
As our 100X Christmas Outreach Day draws near we will be sending out further instructions so that everyone will know what is expected of them that day.
We know it's going to be a challenge like last year, but anything worthwhile is. It remains a priority at Red Dot to use our time, talents, and resources in ways that impact the lives of those in need. With your help, our 2010 100X Christmas Outreach once again will do just that. Thanks to all of you for making Red Dot a special place to work!
Blessings,
Tod Bush
